FELDMAN GALE ATTORNEY RICHARD GUERRA RECEIVES INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW CERTIFICATION FROM FLORIDA BAR MIAMI, FL - The intellectual property boutique firm Feldman Gale is pleased to announce that attorney Richard Guerra has received Intellectual Property Law Board Certification from The Florida Bar. Guerra, an associate with the firm, is a registered patent attorney concentrating in intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation. Rick has litigated in both federal and state courts, including representing clients in federal jury trials, alternative dispute resolutions, and out-of-court negotiations and settlements. He has also prepared and prosecuted patent applications in such disciplines as bio-medical devices and processes, and simple and complex mechanical devices. He is a member of The Florida Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association and Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property. Guerra received his Juris Doctor from George Washington University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University. Florida is the first state that has created Board Certification for intellectual property attorneys. To qualify for certification, applicants must have practiced for at least five years, focus at least 30 percent of their practice on intellectual property matters and complete at least 50 hours of continuing legal education credits in the field. In addition, qualified applicants must receive a satisfactory peer review assessment of competence in the intellectual property law field, as well as character, ethics and professionalism. Finally, applicants must demonstrate that they have practiced intellectual property law for more than 20 years or pass an extensive written examination demonstrating knowledge, skills and proficiency in the area of law. Board certification is valid for five years.
